Minimum qualifications for ALL positions:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must pass a background check (18 and older)
Positions marked with ∗ are paid positions. All others are volunteer positions
Director / Assistant Director:
- Recruit, prepare, supervise staff
- Plan camp program and schedule
- Submit Camp Program and Staffing Plan to Board of Directors
- Oversee the operation and safety of the camp
- Prepare for and handle emergencies
- Make final decisions regarding camper discipline
- Work with government officials
- Distribute and collect mail
- File report with TLC Board after Camp is over
Camp Pastor:
- Oversee the spiritual emphasis of camp
- Unify the input of speakers, devotions, etc.
- Provide devotions for daily staff meetings
- Provide devotional leadership for the cooks and cooking crew
- Oversee and conduct baptism service
*Speaker:
- Speak at the times designated by the Director
- Prepare and present transforming and age-appropriate messages from Bible
- Give Campers the opportunity to learn and respond to key issues: Salvation, Dedication for Christian service, etc.
*Cabin Leader:
- Must be at least 18 years old by July 1’st
- Responsible to be at camp before campers arrive and be ready to receive them
- Supervise campers and minister to their physical and spiritual needs
- Maintain campers’ attendance at all meetings
- Maintain clean and safe cabins following cabin policies
- Encourage proper use of restrooms by campers
- Report spiritual decisions by campers to the Director
- Work with Camp Nurse in dispensing campers’ medications
Cabin Leader Supervisor
- Encourage and help Cabin Leaders
- Assist with camper discipline and lights out procedures
- Coordinate morning flag salute with breakfast
*Worship Leader / Band
- Plan and lead 2 daily worship sessions
- Select appropriate songs and materials for age group and spiritual growth of campers
Recreation Director:
- Organize all recreation/games
- Oversee use and maintenance of sports equipment
- Establish checkout procedures for personal use of equipment
Canteen / Snack Shack:
- Keep Canteen area clean and organized
- Maintain supplies of snacks
- Maintain records
- Clean freezer, refrigerators, and Canteen area for the following camp session
- Make a list of any items that need replenishing and communicate that to the Summer Administrator
Crafts Director:
- Plan and oversee craft projects and materials during craft time and free time
*Lifeguard:
- Govern and maintain the swimming area
- Strictly enforce TLC swimming regulations
- Keep water safety equipment at swimming area while swimming area is being used
- Test and maintain pool chemicals
Nurse:
- Check for head lice upon campers’ arrival
- Attend to the needs of the sick
- Remain at TLC at all times
- Identify health risks
- Notify Director of problems
- Gather, store and dispense Campers’ medications
- Keep daily log of campers’ visits, time and treatment to be available for Health Department
Head Cook:
- Prepares menus
- Secure food supplies
- Supervise kitchen staff
- Organize meal preparation according to camp schedule
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food protection
- Follow Health Department Regulations
Assistant Cook:
- Assist the Head Cook in meal prep and serving
Dining Hall Host:
- Supervise washing of dishes, pots, pans, utensils
- Keep dish towels washed and dried
- Set up tables for meals
- Clean up and arrange dining hall after meals
- Assist Head Cook where needed
- Prepare trash and garbage for disposal
- Supervise Dining Hall Workers
Janitorial:
- Clean common areas daily
- Collect Trash
- Make minor repairs
Audio / Video:
- Operate sound and multimedia equipment during sessions
Photographer:
- Take photos and videos during camp
Dishwasher:
- Wash dishes after each meal (for 4&5th and 6&7th camps)
Rover:
- Be available for miscellaneous things as they arise
